ALI'I - HONOR

‘ALI’I’ is Homage to Queen Liliuokalani. She was the last Hawaiian sovereign to govern the islands, which were annexed by the United States in 1898. The eighth and last monarch, she reigned for only two years. That brief moment of sovereignty was extinguished in a revolution, which led to the annexation of the islands to the United States.

When she was overthrown, Liliuokalani was fined thousands of pounds and impris- oned in her palace. But notwithstanding her effacement from public affairs, Queen Liliuokalani never abandoned her regal pose nor lost the affection of her former subjects, and continued to her death a most Interesting personality.

‘ALI’I’ reminds us to to honor our true Essence. It speaks of regal qualities that are often overlooked today: Honor and Reverence for all Life!
