Bella’s love affair with Maui began when she first visited the islands in the early 80’s. “For decades my heartfelt connection to the Hawaiian culture was fostered by my Hawaiian studies and my beloved Hula Halau ‘Wehiwehi O’Leilehua’.”

 

Bella's Kumu Hula is island royalty Gordean Bailey. From Miss Hawaii 1959, to solo dancer at the Royal Hawaiian, to kumu hula and lei maker, Maui’s Gordean Bailey has spent a lifetime sharing the culture of aloha. Bella's training includes the tradition of Mahi Beamer of the famed hula and Hawaiian music family, Nona Beamer, and hula master Ma‘iki Aiu Lake.

LIVE LOVE HULA was Bella's entry into the Maui Art World in 2012 and still has a very special place in her heart!
